Thank you for reaching out to the PowerSchool community for assistance.
To assist you further, would you please provide the name of the PowerSchool product that you are using to pull the sibling report? Is it PowerSchool Student Information Systems or eSchoolPlus?
Thank you for reaching out in the PowerSchool Community! We would need the name of the PowerSchool product being utilized to provide more detailed information on this issue. Can you please let us know which PowerSchool product you are using? This way we can take a closer look to determine the root cause and work towards a resolution. Thanks!
I'm looking for this as well. My workaround is to export the whole school in an Excel spreadsheet. Then I sort it by the 911 address, home phone, and mother, and father field. I pair the ones that match. That usually gives me the siblings or people related in the same household to cross reference.
I would recommend that you go to the website for PowerDataSolutions and create a new account (https://powerdatasolutions.org/user/register). They have a lot of wonderful customizations for PowerSchool. Their PSCB - Custom Reports (Misc) bundle includes several reports you may find useful, including a Sibling List report and a Single Mailing report. You can download this bundle (and many others) for free. If you have not used any of their reports previously, you will need to download their Base Resources package as well. Hope this helps.
I would like to know if anyone found an answer to this.....
I an using PowerSchool as well and I am wondering if there is a way to see if a student in my class has a sibling that also attends the school. (For Homework, organizing parent conferences, etc.)
There is no Siblings Report built into the system but you can do exports from the Students table and the Relationship table as instructed below:
* Navigate to Start > System > Direct Database Export (DDE)
* In DDE, select the Students (1) table, and search for students [e.g. Enroll_Status=0 to select all active students]. Once they're selected, Export Records, including the Person_ID field. Save the export file.
* In DDE, select the Relationship (189) table, and select all records in this table. Then Export Records, including: Person_ID, Reciprocal Relationship_ID, RelatedPerson_ID
* Save the export file.
* From here, combine the data from both spreadsheets into a single spreadsheet, and line up the Person_ID field so that they match. The RelatedPerson_ID is the Person_ID for the sibling.
Also, to match the personID with the student you can do the following:
-> Please go to Start Page > System Administrator > Page and Data Management > Data Export Manager
-> Category: Show All
-> Export From: Students
-> In your export, select the Person ID field as well as the First Name and Last Name. This way, you can match the names with the person ID's
I recommend reviewing this article for more information on DDE.
