When the new year started, some student's schedule is found missing in PS.

Hi, I would suggest to check the enrollment dates
I've seen this happen when the schedule was committed from PowerScheduler and sections did not have a valid teacher assigned. There is a pre-commit validation customization you can use to check for issues that will cause a problem with the schedule commit.
