Reports in PowerSchool Admin

My admin would like to know how to run a failure report for eligibility. For example, on the admin side how do they run a report that includes students that have a failing grade in any of their classes?

Hi @jlehde

You can use the Search By Grades/Attendance group function to search for students that meet specified grade criteria.

  • Select the term you wanted to search within and then select a group of students.
  • Navigate to Start Page > Special Functions > Search By Grades/Attendance.

By clicking on "Display matching students and sections" at the bottom of the "Search By Grades" page, after running the report the students and their sections will display based on the criteria entered for grades. To know more you can refer to this article: Search by Grades/Attendance.

If you still face further issues to pull the report, it would be helpful if you can share a screenshot of the incorrect grades that are pulled without sharing any PII data.

Hi @jlehde

You can use the At-Risk Report that provides a listing of courses, sections, and grades associated with students who are currently at risk of failing for the current term.

To print the list of students who have scored less than the pass percentage in any class, navigate to the Start Page > Special Functions > Search By Grades/Attendance.  Select the option Scan for this final grade percentage and then mark the percentage to less than the passing percentage as per your requirement.

Thanks so much! Whenever we ran the at risk report we had to select attendance too in order for it to give us any data. It said Error there are no records matching the search criteria, but when we marked attendance then it would work. I wasn't sure if you knew why that was?

Also, using the special functions to run the report. My admin would like to only see the failing grades on the report. So after we pulled the students who have failures, we chose the progress report to run and that showed us all of the students grades if it was an F or not. Do we need to make a special report that will only list the students classes for the failing grades?

I am new to having admin access to PowerSchool. A Teachers are allowed to give a FF to students who miss 4 or more days. Please explain to me how to run a report showing a list of teachers who gave FF for the first quarter.

@tmgatica Is the FF for a final grade?

Hi Heather,

Yes, the FF is for the final grade. I want to be able to run reports showing me a list of teachers who gave FF as a student's final grade.

@tmgatica PSCB Development has numerous plugins that will give you exactly what you are looking for.

PSCB DEV – PowerSchool Customizations (pscbdevelopment.com)

This is their website. The report is PSCB Custom Reports > Grade > Class - Grade Search

It will give you student number, name, grade level, grading team, term, grade, %, term, department, course, section, expression, teacher, last grade update.

Heather,

I was specifically wanting a list of all teachers who gave FF for the final grade. I saw this list once and didn't know how to re-create it. It contained the student's names, actual earned grade, the FF, and the teacher who gave it. I will check out the link you sent to see if that is what I am wanting. Thank you so much for your reply and the link. I hope you have a great day!
