Removing a student that never attended

We have students pre-registered for next year, who have recently changed their minds and are not ever going to be students at our school.  So they have no attendance records or grades, but we did have them in powerscheduler with course requests and course assignments.  They are currently defined as pre-registered for the fall.  This means they are inactive, so we cannot unenroll them.  What is the best way to remove students like this?

We could simply uncheck the 'Schedule this student' box in Scheduling Setup, but will that leave them as pre-registered students forever?  I would prefer to delete them completely from our database using DDE, but will that orphan some record in PowerScheduler?  Or could I delete all their requests and scheduled courses, and then delete their record?

Thanks.

I'd suggest going through and deleting everything first before deleting the student. This includes requests, setup, etc.

But you would be OK deleting their record, once all Requests and schedules are gone?

Once I know absolutely everything linked to that student is deleted out of PS, I am okay with deleting the record.

Another option is to "move" the student to an external or inactive "school"...this only works if you have something like that already setup.

In the past when this has happened to us, I have transferred them out on the first day of school.  So, their entry and exit dates are the same day.  I also exclude them from state reporting.
