Is there a way to work in Powerscheduler without the district inputting the dates for the new school year? This is listed as the first step in the "prepare to build workbook" but my district doesn't want to do this at this time anymore. If I work in an inactive catalog will my changes be saved? Please Help before I get behind!!!!
@ncoffelt You can create Years & Terms in PowerScheduler. Nothing in PowerScheduler will affect the Live Side until you Commit the schedule, at which time the Years & Terms in PowerScheduler will overwrite whatever is on the Live Side, so triple and quadruple check those dates before you Commit.
So the problem I have is that until the school year is created in the district settings it puts a red warning next to my course catalog and last year I was unable to make the course catalog active until the district level calendar was input. any ideas?
If I don't know the exact dates but a can come close, can I get started in PowerScheduler for the upcoming school and change the dates when the district finalizes them?

@nicolebond You sure can.
Hi @ncoffelt
The district will need to enter the new school year for you to be able to activate or set up a Couse Catalog else you will continue to get the warning sign.
Do you think any settings that I change within the individual courses will be saved? Maybe I could work on that until they are willing to open the year for me.
@ncoffelt Yes, even if they don't open the year, the setting you make in a course are saved. Any changes will affect the course/sections moving forward. However, It will not change anything in the current year or past years.
thank you that at least that gives me something to work on!
@ncoffelt Your district may not know the dates of the semesters/quarters/trimesters/whatever, but all you need in PowerScheduler for that red warning not to appear is the full year created, and you can always change that before you commit the schedule.
