PowerScheduler - manually schedule and create request - can both be done on one student?

Our district is in the process of converting to PowerSchool SIS.  I am working with PowerScheduler and have a question...

In PowerScheduler - Can a student be scheduled manually for a few courses (course.section) and also have requests submitted for the rest where section is not required. For example, they need to be in a Math inclusion class which is determined by course.section. We cannot simply create a request for the course.

When we load - any manually scheduled courses will be overwritten for the student, is that correct?

Is the load process an all or nothing process? All students in our school are processed by the Load function?

Thank you!

Hi @cmucciSB you can use a Student Preference Constraint to put kids into specific sections (the student will still need a request for the course but they will go into the section you specify) and let the Load process schedule them for their other classes.

Hi @cmucciSB

We recommend reviewing this document: powerscheduler-load/manually-adjust-student-schedules - for a student to be scheduled manually.

You can also keep the student in certain sections by creating "Student Preference Constraints" for those students/sections. For more information, you can refer to this document about powerscheduler-load/add-a-student-preference-constraint.

Yes, it is a process that runs for the whole school. The Load process runs for the entire school for all students.

Please let us know in case of any further queries.
