LTI Grades and Assignment EndDateTime to Due Date Issues

We have an LTI app in Schoology that supports syncing grades from our tool to the Schoology platform. Everything about the integration is working as expected, except the assignments in Schoology end up with a null and uneditable due date. We are sending the startDateTime and endDateTime in line with the LTI Grades and Assignment spec and it's working as expected in other platforms.

Is a null due date the expected implementation behavior for a synced assignment in Schoology?

Is the expectation that we're sending due date as a custom parameter instead of as a due date?

I see due date listed as a custom parameter within https://developers.schoology.com/app-platform/lti-apps/

But this seems counter to way the LTI 1.3 spec expects us to send that info.
