Help- How do you add a recommender who is retired or not currently teaching in my school system?

Can someone help please- how do you add a recommender who is retired or not currently teaching in my school system? I am trying to add a retired teacher to my college recommender list using Naviance but my only choices are current teachers. I have asked my counselor / many counselors and was told to try and reach out to Naviance support or Powerschool support for help.

Thank you for posting your question in the Community.

In that case, the teacher will need to be added as an "other recommender" in the student's Common App account or the teacher will need to mail it.
