Does anyone use the Health Information section of PowerSchools? What works well and what doesn't? We are about to transition to PowerSchools and I would like insight from current users. Thanks in advance for your help! Kristine McClary, RN (East Samford School, Nurse)
Solved! Go to Solution.
Our district uses the Health information/screens in PowerSchool. Overall, my nurses and health assistants feel it is easy to use and gives them the information needed. I have modified the screenings slightly to accomodate what we do verus what PowerSchool has set as default. The customization of those pages is not completely condusive, so that is a negative. Otherwise, everything else is great. In addtion, I have created some reports, using Enterprise reporting, which makes pulling health data quick for my health staff. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great day!!

I am having the same issue as @cknight. I am at a new school and have to set up the Powerschool health system. I am not familiar with powerschool and would appreciate support in setting up the system. I have reached out to other schools in the area that use it and have yet to hear anything back. Thank you for any help you are able to provide.
Hi @tdarling,
Thank you for reaching out in the Community.
I recommend working with the Designated Support Contacts in your school district who should be able to connect you with your Customer Success Manager.
They can make sure that you are setup properly and review the available training options.

If you go to Youtube there is a webinar from PS in April of 2020 that was the most helpful thing to watch. It shows you how to navigate everything.
You can also google the health plan templates, medications and health code sets. Those will help you set everything up.
Hi @newtestacc,
Thank you for your question in PowerSchool Community!
To assist you better with the concern you are having, would you please confirm if you were referring to the health module within SIS?
We also encourage other members to share your thoughts here.
Hello, Claudia,
I'm in Mississippi. I am in the same boat with you. We are interested in using the Health Module,
but do not understand it.
Did you get any response to your request?
Dear Heather,
Kokomo Schools in Indiana is a similar size district to Westside Community Schools. We just started using the Health Information screens in PowerSchool this year. I am having trouble pulling specific reports for my nurses. You mentioned above that you created some reports in Enterprise reporting. Would you be willing to share them?
Any help you can give would be so appreciated!

Hi @khoover!
Thank you for reaching out to PowerSchool Community!
While we encourage our experienced members to share their insight on this, we also recommend specifying the type of reports that you would like to pull, so that we can try providing more details as well if you are yet to hear on this.
@khoover ... I am so sorry I didn't see this message. Are you still interested in my Enterprise reports?

Hi Heather,
Following up on the email conversation we started.
Are you able to share your Enterprise reports for health with me?
Thank you
Sally
Hey Heather, I saw that you system is using powerschool also. Do you know how to print a care plan without it someone of the pages printing on the page in front of it? Thanks so much.
Hello!
I'm not sure if you're still available for questions, but I have a quick one for you. I am a Health Aide a Charter School in Colorado and I've been working on making sure student immunizations are all squared away. The problem I am having: When I choose an immunization (under the Health section) and click "exclude from calculation" (usually because the IZ was given too early or is invalid), then submit, PowerSchool tells me the student is now compliant and everything is all good. However . . . . the next morning, the student has been labeled "not compliant" again, even though the same IZ is still selected for exclusion. All other information is exactly as I left it. And if I un-select then re-select the "exclude from calculations button again, and submit, again it says everything is compliant. Until the next day. It's something of a vicious cycle and I hope I haven't made it sound too terribly confusing. I realize this may be a programming/IT issue, but I'm wondering if you've ever encountered a similar problem or if there's any user-friendly way to fix it on my end.
Thanks for all you do,
Erin
Hi @E-Chapman
Would you please try turning off the customizations and see if the student shows compliant the next day as well?

Hi Heather,
I would be very interested in any Enterprise Reports you've created for health information if you're willing to share. My district has not used Enterprise Reporting for health info in the past and my tech department is just starting to look into it. If we can see how other people built their reports, I am hoping it can streamline the process for us so I can get some useful reports quicker. Thanks!
We are just getting our PS Health together and have some questions. Does anyone use the bind to a rule feature? Can you keep the vaccines separate by manufacturer or do you group them together? EX: do you just create a Varicella Immunization or can you create two, varicella(unknown) and varicella(Varivax). How would that impact the immunization compliance?
Thank you
Hi Heather,
I am following up on my previous message I sent to you at the beginning of the summer, and you made mention to touch base with you toward the end of the summer.
I was looking for any health reports you may have developed. An immunization compliance report and a physical compliance report would most helpful at this time.
Thank you,
Sally
KTMcClary,
Did you get any responses that were helpful about Health functions in PowerSchool. We have been able to provide cumulative reports on Medical Alerts and Allergies for our team, but it was not easy.
I have several questions about Office Visits and Immunizations. Please share anything that you have.
Kelley
Hi Kelley - We are not live yet. There have been seminars for our administration regarding the teaching aspects - but the health component has never been addressed. I wish I could help you...but you know more about it than I do! Good luck!
Hi @PriscillaS1
Thank you for reaching out in the Community for assistance.
I recommend reviewing this document on the available EnhancedHealth built into the system to help you set enhanced health-related settings. I highly recommend you to walk through this article on HealthManagement which provides a tool to assist your school district with capturing, managing, and reporting student health-related information. You might also find the documents on HealthPlans and HealthConcerns useful to keep a track of health-related issues.
Please let us know in case of further queries.
Hi Kelley,
Would you be able to share your cumulative report process for Medical Alerts and Allergies?
Thank you,
Sally Borges
Can the health templates be exported out and imported into another PowerSchool SIS?
