I have a teacher who reported that his grade calculation setup changed on him this past semester. He shared that he initially set up his class using "category weighing" but that this changed to "total points" without him knowing.
Has anyone else heard of this happening? Could there have been an update that interfered with this?
Personally, I wonder if he didn't set it up correctly at the beginning of the semester...however he is adamant.

This is unexpected behavior. The support would need to review the grade calculation setup to know why the changes occurred.
We recommend you report this issue to the Technical Contact of your district who should be able to work with PowerSchool support through a case and investigate further on this issue.
