I am a new GIEP writer. Our IEP students can digitally sign their completed IEPs at a meeting or when it is submitted to them for digital signatures.
However, that is NOT the case with our GIEPs. I can populate the student on the cover page of the GIEP and mark them attending the meeting, but after I finalize the document EVERYONE at the meeting EXCEPT the student becomes eligible to sign digitally.
What I have been doing is printing the entire document, having the student sign in ink, scanning the document, and then uploading the document into the GIEP.
This defeats the whole purpose of digital signing, takes up so much time, and wastes paper.
Help....please.
