Folder Colors in June Update

I was wondering why Schoology decided to change the color of it's folder options on this latest update?

The folder option colors in the past were brighter colors and of a more rainbow like spectrum and made it much easiert to organize and color code.

This latest update has them in a color scheme that is darker tones and if you have vision difficulties makes it very frustrating!

I am also dyslexic and the brighter colors made it so much easier for me to organize things for my students and it was a huge help to my students who needed that kind of visual differentiation,

I hope they reconsider this change and revert back to the old color scheme.

I think it was in Schoology Office Hours a week ago that this topic was presented. There were some on the call who thought the same thing as you.  You might want to visit the Ideas Portal and create a suggestion that focuses on this issue. There are various ideas already in the Schoology Ideas Portal dealing with color and contrast, but not this specific issue with the new release.

Thank you Dan...I am new to the Community Forum, so this is a new process for me. I will look into that,

I agree 100%. The old folders made it easy to differentiate and to find what I needed. I could tell a colleague to look in the "orange folder".Now, I can't even tell which one is supposed to be orange! Whats with the "bubbly" look, too? ðŸ¤”😞

When I go to the Ideas portal, it opens up a never ending loop of opening a window inside that page with the Ideas portal with a window inside with the ideas portal and so on...

When I click on the case portal it tells me I have no open cases and there is no way to search.

I would like to add to the discussion that for some content like folders, providing a variety of options lets teachers customize their folder structure for their classes.  It was mentioned on a Schoology Fb group that part of the reason for the new colors was ADA compliance.  I would suggest that the old folder colors still comply with this because there are labels and teachers have documentation of disabilities for their students.  When I had a red/green color blind student in my classroom, I used only one of those colors and ALWAYS told students things like "the RED folder, at the top of the page labeled xyz".  Identifying the correct folder could be done by color, location and/or name.  This is different from a public website that anyone could be accessing.

Also, the changes to the icons for different types of assignments are much harder to differentiate which is which.

Just adding my two cents - the colors are terrible! It's hard to discern between some of them and frankly, they're just ugly.
