Directions for Exiting a Student in Powerschool Special Programs

Does anyone have step-by-step instructions on how to exit a student on the PS Special Programs side?  Thanks!

Hi! @dsye

Thank you for posting in the PowerSchool Community for assistance!

Directions for exiting a student will depend on the state.  Your school must follow state protocol to document the student exit.  Admin will need to generate and finalize the appropriate documents that will indicate the student is/will be exiting Special Programs.

Once the appropriate documents are finalized the student profile will import the special education exit date from the documents.  After the student has exited Special Education the student should be made inactive.  For more information, I recommend reaching out to the Designated Support Contacts within the district who should be able to create a case on your behalf with the Special Education support team and assist you further.

Is this the same for Michigan?  I have not been making exited students inactive so the keep generating on reports.  Is there a reliable report I can run for exited special ed students so I can make them all inactive?

Hi! @Coljsmith

It is possible to deactivate multiple student profiles at one time using the Deactivate Student Profiles utility.  I recommend reaching out to the Designated Support Contacts within the district who should be able to access the "Deactivate Multiple Student Profiles at One Time" article from the Special Programs System Administrator Help and assist you further.
