Course auto archiving after trying to make a grading period

I have a basic account that has worked for the past 4-5 years. I just finished a class 2 weeks ago with no problem. I went to make a new course like I have done and when I go to make a grading period nothing shows up. Then when I go back to the main dashboard it was that the course was been moved to the archive. Has anyone else had this problem?
