There should be a feature to change the "missing" catagory to have a weight of 50% rather than only 0. Our district make us gve missing work a 50% grade and doing so does not allow us to use the "missing" features of schoology and this creates a lot of confusion, especially for parents because missing work does not show up in the "missing" list since it has to have a manully entered grade of 50% and therefore shows up as completed.
