Parents that have Custody and using Emergency Contacts

As we have noticed some of our parents are not getting emails. Then we looked into their contacts and parents were check marking emergency contact as well for them. Is there a way to gray out emergency contact if you select custody? Our auto dialers will not send to emergency contacts just to parents with custody. Any ideas or suggestions besides typing in big bold red letters do not select emergency if you are the parent?

If you are using SchoolMessenger, under targets in the Broadcast click on Guardian & Contacts and select "Custody" and "Lives with" only and it will send out to only parents or anyone that has these flags in Contact Management. I hope this helps.

No, we do not use SchoolMessenger. We have integrated our rosters into Google and ParentSquare. So it's out of ParentSquare that pulls the data from PowerSchool. If ParentSquare sees emergency contact is checked it will bypass that student's parents. So we were looking at a way to have PowerSchool automatically grey out Emergency Contact once Lives with and Has Custody was selected so the parent doesn't click EC. It's a parent issue and we can type things until we blue in the fingertips they still do not follow directions well.
