Merging Duplicate Students

We have a number of duplicate students in our database. I'd like to merge them, and I was wondering if it's possible to do so.  We had a student who left and returned twice and she's in the system three times! I'd really like to clean up the mess.

Currently, you can only consolidate duplicate Admin/Teacher users, not students. PowerSchool recommends "archiving" the duplicate student records over deleting them. I would also double check State reporting requirements wherever you live.

There are also several ideas in the Idea Portal available for voting on in regard to merging duplicate records.   If you haven't already, you may want to vote on those.
