Alert Tones in Chat

I don't receive alert tones in Chat when a technician sends a message. My sound is on and the website is "allowed" to notify me by sound in my Chrome settings. This is very frustrating as I am working on other things while awaiting a response. 

Does anyone have alert tones notifying them during Chat?
