Hi,
My name is Doreen and am new to Powerschool. I was wondering is there any audit trail to determine who made updates/entries into a students record? For example the Parent information. We have a district that would like to know who was the last person to update a field in Parent information.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Doreen!
Welcome to the PowerSchool Community!
Information about record tracking and logging within PowerSchool's SIS can be found on PowerSource. However, most of these articles require Technical Contact level access. I would recommend reaching out to one of your district's technical contacts, and have them either search PowerSource or reach out to the PowerSchool Technical Support Team directly for more in-depth assistance.
Hi Scott,
Thank you for the information
Can you suggest PowerSource articles? I've done multiple searches regarding tracking changes or audit logs but the majority of the articles involve PS functions such as section auditing, attendance auditing, log entries, etc.
I've found articles online (not through PowerSource) about tracking attendance changes through a laborious process of DDE searches through multiple tables, but I am wondering about tracking other changes such as historical grades or coursees, if possible. Or at least something a little more user friendly than comparing multiple DDE searches.
Thanks in advance. 😃
Thank you for submitting your question in the PowerSchool Community!
Tracking modification made to certain data types in PowerSchool SIS must be accessed through DDE. There are Db logs that pre-populated tables for attendance and grades that will make the the process of generating the modification data simpler. I have provided a link below to an article that will guide users through the process of pulling modificiations for certain data types in PowerSchool SIS below.
I would like to review the information in the article referenced. However, when I click on the link I get the following message: "Hmm, it looks like you don't have access to this resource." I receive requests to track modifications and I've been researching ways to do this. What is the process in getting access to the article?
Thanks,
Beverly
Hi! @bwheeler,
We have a great thread that has addresses the reasons why users may receive an access message. I recommend checking out the resolutions in this thread.
The article Getting-Started-in-Community should guide you through getting started as a Designated Support Contact.
