I need to export certain fields for transportation and sort by school name. The Schoold field give me a numeric code. What field will actually give me the school's name, examples Maryland High School, Maryland Elementary, etc.
Use [39]name
[39] = Table 39 (the Schools table)
Unfortunately, field 39 returns a numeric code for the the school name as well. Displays 0-55 for our schools. Seems like there should be a field name that display the actual school's name.
Are you using this exactly as it appears below (including name)?
[39]Name
39 is the table # and Name if the field name for the school from the schools table in DDE.
THANK YOU!!! That worked.
So for future reference, in PS is there a place that give you options to define these fields. My goal is to eventually build reports in PS itself and not have to use Excel/Access for importing and exporting.
Hello, I am not sure what you mean by "options to define these fields". You can create custom fields. You can reference the PS data dictionary to see the various tables and field names.
My goal is to create a bus list in PS, so I am wanting to know all the field names on the transportation page as they want certain information on the report. I am also looking for a report template for that as well. Right now, we are using Quick Export and a few other programs to create bus list...per school, then per bus. There should be a way to do this directly from PS, I think.
@skirkland You might be interested in checking out PSCB Custom Reports > Student Transportation. They are available through a plugin located in PowerSource Community.
