Grade discrepancy in the App

In the PowerSchool App, students can see and click on the S1 tab (even if the course is not a semestered course).  This seems to bring up a grade that is different from the Y1 grade.  My understanding is that they should be the same grade.

Can the S1 grade be different from the Y1 grade?  What would cause the discrepancy?

S1 grade can be different from the Y1 grade. You can refer to the document: traditional-grade-calculations to check if it is setup correctly.

There are a few possible causes for this.  One could be that the term weighting is causing a difference in the grades.  Another possibility is the teacher has entered a grade in the incorrect term by putting the wrong due date on an assignment.  This could kick it into the next term and cause the grade calculations to be off for the semester.
