Eric Lauver was appointed Director of Pupil Services and Technology at Fort Cherry in February 2022. Previously, Dr. Lauver served as Principal at Trinity North Elementary School, where students have access to personalized learning opportunities including a LEGO makerspace, SMALLab, and green screen media technologies.
As Assistant Principal at Trinity High School, Dr. Lauver became an advocate for career pathways to prepare students for college or career. He was the author of numerous grants to embed teachers into workplaces, obtain funding to create community partnerships, and forge pre-apprenticeship programs that lead to industry-recognized credentials.
While at Trinity Middle School, Dr. Lauver redesigned the master schedule to prioritize STEAM learning, including the 8th Grade STEAM Academy, where students design, promote, and build within one interdisciplinary course. Additionally, Trinity Middle School requires computer programming courses for all students in grades 7 and 8, and was the first middle school in the country to implement the CS50 program through a partnership with Microsoft and Harvard.
As a music teacher in Bethel Park, Dr. Lauver was a flipped classroom innovator, leading to a presentation at the 2014 FlipCON at Mars Area High School.
Dr. Lauver holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Duquesne University, a Master of Music Degree from Duquesne University, and a Master of Education Degree from California University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctor of Education degree in Leadership and Administration from Point Park University. Mr. Lauver lives in Jefferson Hills with his wife and his two sons.
