Publish Scores Checkbox Isn't Respected for Standards Scores

We are preparing to enable Unified Classroom within are board, and are working through the Parent Portal functionality. In our testing we have noticed that when an assignment is created with the Publish Scores checkbox un-checked, the Standards Scores attached to the assignment still seem to appear to the parent.

In a Standards-Based assessment set up, we usually use Collected Only as the default score: it's the levels on the Standards that really matter, and are what we want to communicate. If there is an instance where I don't want an assigment to be displayed in the parent portal, what would be the process? If I set the Display to Students and Parents to Never, there's an error, similar to one that appears in PTP, that warns "The assignment is set to count in final grade yet never publish." I know in PTP that an unpublished assignment doesn't count in the grade calculation, is the same true of assignments that are set to not be Displayed to Students and Parents?

If I'm collected formative assessments that are being used to inform classroom lessons, and next steps for students, but not as final assessments of student learning, how can I record these in UC?

Re: Publish Scores Checkbox Isn't Respected for Standards Scores

Hi,

In PowerTeacher Pro when an assignment is set to never publish it will still be calculated in final grade calculation unless the 'Count in Final Grade' option is unchecked.  Final Grade is calculated for all assignment categories except for the Collected-Only category.

"The assignment is set to count in final grade yet never publish." caution message should disappear when the "Count in Final Grade" option is unchecked, as shown in the screenshot below.

To hide Standards scores please uncheck the option to 'Calculate Overall Class Grade' located in Unified Classroom under the User Menu > Settings > Traditional Grade Calculation, select Edit (pencil icon) to pull up the desired course/term for which you wish to hide the grade.  Unchecking this option will hide the final grade for teachers/parents/students.

Thanks Bishal. Turning off the final grade calculation for all users (teachers included) is a bit more heavy-handed than I was hoping for. I'll try to work on clearly articulating what I'm after: I have a feeling it's going to be a feature request.
