Troubleshoot: Unable to Edit Information in a Form

Summary

If you are attempting to edit information in a field, but the field remains greyed-out, this means that the field is a Read-Only field. These fields are intended to be completed with information from your school district’s database, and thus are not able to be changed.

Read-Only fields are not typically required, so you should be able to submit your form. If there is incorrect information entered into a Read-Only field, we suggest contacting your school district directly so that they can update their database with correct information.

Audience

  • Have you started a form for your student using a Snapcode?
  • Is there information about your family or student already pre-populated onto your form?
  • Is there incorrect information on your form you would like to change?

Solution

If you are trying to change information on a form, but there’s a gray box over that field, you will NOT be able to edit that information on the form yourself.

  1. If a name is misspelled
    • You may submit the form as it is; then, please contact the school district directly to let them know what information needs to be updated.

  2. If the grade or school is incorrect
    • We recommend that you stop working on the form and call the school district to let them know that the student’s grade or school is incorrect.

  3. If any other piece of data is incorrect
    • We'll generally recommend you go ahead and submit the form as it is; then, please contact the school district directly to let them know what information needs to be updated.

Comments

I cannot Edit the info in my students returning school registration. I cant even submit the Registration because it says I have duplicate info. I cant erase or change anything within the registration form. So submitting isnt an option and then contacting school with updated info because I cant even submit it.
