CANNOT REGISTER 2ND CHILD ON EXISTING ACCOUNT

Hi there

I have an existing account that I have been using for the past 3 years.

Today I am trying to add my 2nd student under the same account and it is giving me an error message "Your child has not been added to your account. Valid student information must be entered" 

 

I contacted the school. They gave me his correct Student ID.

I go into 'Add", Type student name, Access ID, Access Password ( I tried what the school gave me and my own password) and I keep getting the same error.

 

Please asdvise

To allow us to further assist, would you please provide if you are attempting to add your second child in your Enrollment parent account to complete a registration form or your PowerSchool parent web portal?

The ID's and Passwords are case sensitive so make sure you are entering the appropriate capital or lowercase letters.  If you continue to have issues and the students are at the same school the school PS admin should be able to add the student to your account.  If they are not at the same school a district administrator could do the same.

Thank you for your help.

I did a live chat as well. They advise me to contact my district school again (although I had done so yesterday) as I was doing all the steps correct on my end.
They provide me with a differ Student ID and Access Code Password all together and it did work. I guess they have control of the account on their end so after they reset it or activate something, it did work on my end.

Can somebody here detail the steps for a district admin to add an additional student to an existing parent account in the parent portal?  I have district admin permissions (I am the district tech contact), but do not know how to do this.  We have had at least a couple instances of the same problem for parents that I know of in this new school year.  If there is a KB article or other place to look it up - any help would be appreciated.

On the Contacts Tab enter parent name or email

Make sure the check box for only show access accounts is checked

Search

The Parent access account information will pop up

Click on the Contact Name

Click Add Students

Search the students name to be added

Check the box next to the name, enter relationship and check data access

Submit

 

You can also change a password for a parent in the same window by clicking edit account.

Thanks for posting this.  I actually got it right after posting the inquiry by testing a few different attempts on the Contact Details page.  Knowing how to do this will help a lot of parents in our district going forward....
