Since I am in the process of 'flipping' my classroom, it would be really helpful to be able to prepare assignments, assessments, and wiki projects and then 'schedule' them to pop up when I would like. Is this going to be a feature in future? From what I can tell, right now, if I create anything (other than a draft assessment) it is going to show up on my wall immediately.
Great point @wfoley. Scheduling an assignment can be an awesome feature for a wide range of reasons. Having a Assigned dates option just above the Due dates option with the exact same date and time features should do the trick. This could even come in handy when teachers plan long term major assessments that are tied to external deadlines etc.
We are currently struggling with having to deal with many assignments clashing on the same day/week adding much stress to students. Having such a feature can signal some red flags early on so that teachers can modify their plans accordingly. A strong feature from all angles.
Cheers,
Shashi
Also: I have been playing around with seeing if Moodle can behave as an LTI provider (it can). So when setting up a new LTI Activity using Moodle as the service provider, I get these additional options which let me assign start and end dates to specific sections/all sections. Something like this for regular assignments would be awesome.
Yes! When will this be a feature? Scheduling assignments and assessments would be great. We don't want students to see the assignment before they are ready, but teachers love to prepare things in advance. Is this coming?
Hi @cparets,
Please be advised that scheduling the assignments and assessments in advance can be achieved by creating them in an inactive class, and then you can copy them to the active class when you are ready to assign them to the students.
How do you copy an assignment or assessment? I thought you had to make a new assessment and import the questions?
Our teachers have been creating a dummy section in their classes, then assign it only to that section and going in at the time they want to and add the other sections. It isn't automated though.
Thanks for any help.
