Google Drive outage on Powerschool Learning

Does anyone have an update on the Google Drive outage which does not allow anyone to attach a file from Google from within PowerSchool Learning? Our teachers and students depend on this feature. It’s been on since at least 10:30am eastern.

I reached out to the support team and they replied that they are actively investigating the issue. There is a notification banner on powerschool learning pages regarding the same.

Thanks.

We are experiencing this as well today.  Anyone know if any progress is being made?

Any updates would be greatly appreciated. We are just back from a holiday and none of our teachers or students can attach documents using the normal procedure. This is putting a BIG kink in our work.

Here are our janky work-arounds if it helps anyone else:

Workarounds:
  • Locate the link to your document and share the link by adding it as text in an assignment or text block.
    • NOTE: For PDFs, Word Documents, and other NON GOOGLE DOCS, you will need to use the procedure below
  • Download the document as a PDF and add the document directly to PS Learning

PowerSchool is aware of the issue; I will share updates as they come to me.

Getting a Link for a NON-GOOGLE DOC Stored in Google Drive:
  1. Locate document in google drive; right click on document and choose "Get link"
  2. Choose "Copy Link"

Hi @lakesidelion

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We are aware of the issue occurring while attempting to attach from Google Drive, using the button "Attach from Google Drive" or "Pick from Google Drive" a blank screen is showing up in Google Chrome with an error message. One of the possible reasons for this issue is that the content is getting prohibited from being displayed within an iFrame due to the Content Security Policy that has been changed from Google.

Our PowerSchool Development Team is actively working with Google on a resolution.

@KritiS

Can we get any timeline or update for this? This is really, really hampering our ability to collect work from students. We could really use a timeline for resolution on this so we can make contingency plans for workarounds and student training.

Hi @aciuffo,

Thank you for posting in the PowerSchool Community!

Our team has confirmed that the cause of the known Google Drive issue is the content is getting prohibited from being displayed within an iFrame due to the Content Security Policy that has been changed from Google.

Unfortunately, this is a Google limitation that we have no control over. However, our team is looking at any changes that can be implemented on our side.

At this time, there are no updates as we are continuing to work with Google for a speedy resolution.

If you haven't done so already, we suggest submitting a ticket with our support team here. This way you can be notified when a fix is released.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and we thank you for your patience while we continue to investigate this issue.
