I'm attempting to export a class from PowerSchool Learning and a message states "Status: Failed
Error: Error exporting content." I've tried Common Cartridge 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 with the same results. I also tried several other classes.
Does anyone have a workaround to get the export working?
Good Afternoon @LPH!
Thank you for your post!
In order to a look at that specific issue regarding cartridge failure, we recommend using the Help menu in your district's domain to reach out directly to support and share the specific class in which you are wanting to export the content.
One thing I would like to verify is whether you are planning to export the content to share it with someone who is not a Learning user or if they are planning to share with a Learning user. If you are planning to share the content with another Learning user, it is possible to use the option Manage Class > Share Class to share the content without having to directly export content. The following article from our Learning Knowledge Base may be a helpful resource for doing so: https://help.powerschool.com/t5/Learning-Classes-Pages-Blocks/How-do-I-share-content-with-other-teac...

I am creating a new course for a small charter high school. I would like to export it in common cartridge format as well to use on Canvas. It gives me that error. Please help!
Error: Error exporting content
Thank you for your post! It sounds like you are seeing some errors when exporting content from your Learning class. Is that correct? Are you seeing this with versions 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3? If you refresh your browser, are you able to complete the export? Also, have you tried this in more than one browser? Here is an article to help with the process.
Please let us know if we can continue to help with this.
I have tried different computers entirely. There is likely something about this school's use of powerschool that isn't allowing it. I have tried to create the common cartridge in all types and on many computers.
Thank you for your response on this. It would be good to know if others at your school are running into the same issue when using common cartridge exports inside a PowerSchool Learning class. It may be a good idea to use the Help menu in Learning and Contact your Organization to connect with your school admin to test on their end as well.
I also welcome others to post here if they are seeing the same thing. Please feel free to share additional details as well.
I am experiencing the same issue. It is only one teacher on campus. Several teachers were able to export PowerSchool classes without an issue. I submitted a help ticket through PowerSchool. This is a response from a PowerSchool representative on 2/13/2019:
"Our developers have identified this as a known issue, and we're working on a solution. I'll keep you updated here once I have some news."
I have not heard back regarding this issue.
Thank you for reaching out for assistance through the Community! I am going to follow up with you through a direct message to gather more information.
Thank you for reaching out for assistance through the Community! I am checking with the product support team to see if there is a resolution or a workaround. I will follow up with you as soon as I have more information.
Thank you for your patience! The product team recommended that you create a case so they can look further into this issue for you. If you have additional questions let me know and I will be happy to help!
Thanks for your post.
Has there been any resolution to this thread? I read all 10 replies and it seems as if there is no solution. It's a bit frustrating to be honest. I am having the same issue.
Thank you for requesting an update in the Community! @caverill0f
Our Developers are continuing to review and resolve error received when exporting class content in common cartridge format. I recommend reaching out to the PowerSchool Learning Support Team to request an update on an existing case or create a new case. The PowerSchool Learning Support Team works closely with the PowerSchool Developers and this will allow the Support Team to monitor the number of users reporting this issue as well as allowing PowerSchool to follow up with you directly once a resolution is released.
