Hi, PS forum. We're moving to Unified Classroom. Our curriculum, including assessments, unit goals, rubrics, etc. is currently housed on the Rubicon Atlas curriculum management platform as Google Docs or Word Docs linked or uploaded to teachers' units.
How are other people mapping their unit planning in PSLearning?
Since PowerSchool doesn't seem to offer the same curriculum mapping functionality as Rubicon Atlas, we'd like to keep our current platform, but wonder how creating rubrics in PSLearning will / won't allow for us to separately house live documents. It seems to me that once you create a rubric in PSLearning, it becomes "attached" to an assessment, and doesn't exist as a separate file that we can link to and house in a separate location and map to units.
Ideas from others? We're not sure how to map our unit planning in PSLearning.
Thank you for posting this great question in our Community! We would love to hear from others on their practices with curriculum mapping.
Though we may not have specifically what you are looking for, we do have some resources on rubrics that you may find helpful to explore, including one on sharing rubrics and reusing rubrics with content over time:
We hope you'll find these helpful and we look forward to hearing from others!

Hi, Adam. We decided to go with our original Curriculum Mapping system (Atlas Rubicon). Our Rubrics are generally created in Google Docs and uploaded to units in Atlas. We are not using the Rubric or Gradebook functionality in PowerSchool Learning; we grade separately and upload the grades directly to PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook.
Actually, since we had some issues with how the Unified Classroom calculated and reported Standards (we are a standards-based school), we had to turn off the Unified Classroom shell, and are using PowerSchool Learning and PowerSchool SIS / PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook as separate products. I hope improvements are made to the Unified Classroom system that would allow us to try the product again.
Hope this helps!
We are going through the exact same process now and are hoping to align our pre-planning with our assessments and through to our reports. We have purchased Unified Classroom.
I am attending PSU next week to find out more but your reply provided me with a reality that we may be facing soon.
We're looking at something similar, and I'm wondering if you (or anyone) has implemented PowerSchool's Schoology launch and tried to transition Atlas Rubicon into something that Schoology may support?
Hi @jskahen ,
Thank you for the suggestion. I mostly meant pulling all the data out of Atlas and bringing it into Schoology, as there is a lot of potential overlap for curriculum management.
Hi @jskahen ,
Thank you for clarifying. Currently, Atlas Rubicon is not an LTI app in Schoology. Therefore, pulling data out of Atlas and bringing it into Schoology is not supported.
In this case, we suggest you reach out to Atlas Rubicon to see if they can provide you with an LTI account or create a direct developer account so you can integrate the two systems.
