Container for new school year manual or automatic

Hi all,

 

Do we need to create a new school year container 2020-2021 manually? Our PowerSchool Learning is in sync with SIS and now the sync is stopped. Before allowing the  automatic imports to run again,do we need to create a container in school year settings or will the school year get automatically imported from SIS? 

 

In school year settings,there is a message - "New School Years will be automatically added to this list as they are imported with classes. The dates allow teachers to easily find current classes. Classes not in the current school year are filtered out of teachers' Inactive Classes list, by default." So, I am confused whether to create manually or not? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out for assistance through PowerSchool Community!

 

The school year will get automatically and then you can modify the dates of the year manually. Whatever changes are made in Student Information Systems will reflect in learning after automatic import.

The school year will get automatically and then you can modify the dates of the year manually. Whatever changes are made in Student Information Systems will reflect in learning after automatic import.

make sure you have the import start year set for 2020 under config.

 

remember to approve that first import, we always have to the first time due to the large amount of changes

Thank you. That's a great information.

 

Now we are facing an issue of not receiving approval request mails. We stopped receiving mails as we didn't take any action niether cancellation nor approval. Currenlty we need to run/approve the first import for the new school year but confused as not receiving approval requests for import.

 

Already written to support team & waiting for their reply. It would be great help if you have any idea on solving this.

can't say we've ever received an email concerning approving an import. I just know to look the day after we do our end of year process

Today we ran the new school year import. Unfortunately the new school year container is not automatically to PS Learning. We don't know what happened.
