 How can I add a second student to my parent account?

Answer

If you have more than one student attending the same school, or if you were advised to use the same District Code or web address, you can add these students to your account through the web portal.

To add a student via the web portal:

1. After signing in to the web portal, click Account Preferences on the left menu
2. Under Account Preferences, click on the Students tab
3. Now click on the Add + button and follow the necessary steps

If your students are accessed through different District Codes or websites, you will need to sign out and then back in to view each student, as the District Code is a part of your credentials and assists the app in determining which server to reach out to when verifying your username and password.

Can this be done from the app?

This answers the question for children at the same school. Doesn't help if you have children at two different schools, with two separate district codes in PowerSchool. How do I connect the app to two different schools at once? This can't be rare!

I would also like to know how to add a child when they are at a different school than their siblings

My power school ask when I log in account verification I doesn't ask account preferences and won't let me add my other child to the account

You're absolutely right! Managing two different district codes for kids in separate schools can be tricky in PowerSchool. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t currently support multiple district codes simultaneously. One workaround some parents use is to log out and switch accounts, though it’s not ideal. Another option is to use the app for one school and access the other district’s portal through a browser. PowerSchool support might be able to offer a better solution—hopefully, they’ll consider adding multi-district support in the future!
