You would need to contact support at Calpads for the correct file format for importing. The steps to export data from PowerSchool can be found under the Help section in the software, under State Reporting help.

Do you know how to import from powerschool to Calpads. I want to import all the kinders and cross check they dont have an SSID assign to them from a preschool.
Yes this is what I found out and did. I was able to get get my new SSID# then upload to PowerSchool.
SSID # For new students
This procedure is for uploading Students with out an SSID # to CALPADS. Then Exporting SSID # from CALPADS, then importing in to PowerSchool SIS.
1, PowerSchool select students need SSID
2, Upload file to CALPADS
Reference CALPADS document Requesting SSID
3, In CALPADS Request and select correct SSID for student
4, Export from CALPADS to Desk top New student SSID#
Reference PowerSchool Community : Importing State Student ID Numbers
5, Import new data in to Excel spread sheet
6, Export from PowerSchool for Excel spread sheet for upload to PowerSchool
7, Transfer data SSID # from CALPADS excel sheet to Powerschool sheet
8, Check power school sheet all data is correct First name last name Student ID
9, Upload data check all is correct
In PowerSchool select students that need SSID. Start Page > School your correct school and Term, Students tab, Search box click on View Field Value. Filter: (State_StudentNumber) then in search box after State_StudentNumber = (sp) or blank. This should give you # of students with out SSID# all TK and K + new to school students. I got 72 students.
PowerSchool go to System Reports > State reporting tab > Scroll down to CALPADS, Click on SSID Enrollment Records. Scroll down
Students to include The selected # Students only
Processing Options In Background only
Specific Date time Skip
Start date enter first day of school this year.
End Date todays date
Report Mode Select Non-submission (Mode all records)
Student Filter All Selected Students
Execute Custom SQL after Section NO
Bypass Validation NO
School Group (no Group Selected)
Submit, view, if errors fix re submit view. Click download result file
Click on ZIP to unzip file.
Note File name EG: SSID_Enrollment_2019-09-03_102619.txt in downloads folder.
2) Up load to CALPADS
In CALPADS Left side Select Upload/ View Submission
Click File Upload
File Type: SSID Enrollment-SENR
Job Name: create name The click choose File, Select the file created from PowerSchool.
Click Upload File
Should get File Upload Successful, Wait a while so file can process.
Scroll down page click View
Click Tab View / Post Passed Records
SSID Request Match Status
New, Single, Multi matches. Work through carefully to be sure correct student is selected.
After All Dispositions have been selected, go to bottom right.
Select Validate Matched SSID, Then POST SSID’S
Should now have a display with all of the SSID #
Extract File to desk top
CALPADS left hand side select Extract
In Request CALPADS Files
Select : SSID Extract Then fill in all boxes Job Id should be same as uploaded with a new number added. Make extract file name. Grade Level all,
Request File, Wait Once file shows Posted you can extract file.
Then in Submitted Extracts you can select Download.
Now import your file into an Excel Spreadsheet.
At this point Follow the PowerSchool Community
Importing State Student ID Numbers
Once file is created and on desktop Copy, Past data from CALPADS Spreadsheet to this sheet.
Then upload to PowerSchool.

Great job on this! I would add one step - which may not apply to your pre-k students, but might affect older students. Search /state_studentnumber in your comma separated list of SSIDs prior to importing the SSID file to PS. I've found duplicate students many times this way.
