New to the scheduling process, but determined to get this years' schedules taken care of before my 25-26 SY goes live in July. My last 2 years, we haven't been in a spot that running a "load" was getting done. And the last 2 years, I've returned in July and had to manually fix students schedules.
My district copies the master from the year before. All the student requests have been input. All the teacher recommendations have been input for electives, test scores, etc. All teachers have been deleted or added, and their new schedules have been built. Courses/ Sections have been back checked to verify student requests are showing & the teacher sections are accurate. Class room updates have been made. The "Master Schedule" in PowerScheduler has been checked. Students have been teamed, Homeroom rosters have been addressed.
I feel like all the pieces have been set up. But when I hit "Load", then check the "Q"...28/ 900 students state they are scheduled. What am I missing?
At what point do you "import"? Below are what I'm getting when I review "Q".
We have 3 grade levels (6-8), our 6th graders can select 4 electives. We mark 2 "alt", and also prioritize. Could this be causing the errors and not scheduling?
-
***** 28 FULLY SCHEDULED *****
0 students fully time scheduled but missing requests.
28 (833) students with 0 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
5 (60) students with 1 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
19 (4) students with 2 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
50 (0) students with 3 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
769 (0) students with 4 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
22 (0) students with 5 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
4 (0) students with 6 requests (excluding impossible) unscheduled!
What exactly does this error mean?
-
Data Error Student xxx is incompatible with the primary or an alternate on request for course 73101
The Import function actually puts the students into their schedules. Before you Import the Load they are kind of "in the ether." Basically, you always have to Import your Load otherwise you will not see the students in their actual classes.
That Data Error could have a number of causes. Check your Student Avoid constraints, see if the class is in a slot that cannot fit into the student's schedule, etc.
Can anyone explain what these errors mean?
incompatible with the primary or an alternate on request for course xxxxx with section type xx (null)
when creating section types, it says only 2 characters, does it matter what characters?
No "constraints" are set up.
You also might check if the max enrollment is too low on those courses
