Pencil Icon missing

I just completed an assessment this morning and noticed the pencil icon was missing when I finished pulling the items into a new test.  Does this have anything to do with the fact newly created items were not populating?

Actually still missing two items that I created earlier this morning (8:00-9:00 EST).  All other items have populated.

Hi @TracyM20,

Once an item has been saved on a test, it can be edited only by a user with Admin or Author with Update permissions to the item's source/bank.

Besides, when a test has been released for administration, the ability to edit its items is disabled. As such, the only way for non-district admin users to utilize the edit option is if they are added to the Source with Author and Update permissions.

You can contact your district admin for further assistance with editing a saved test.

Hi @Emmie1,

Thank you for reaching out to PowerSchool Community!

If the pencil icon is missing, we recommend making sure that you have all the permissions to edit.  If this is something you used to have and missing now, we recommend connecting with the Designated Support Contact within your school district who can reach out to the support team to look into this issue further.

Also, items will start populating when they are created and it can take up to 24 hours to complete. To assist you further, would you please check later and let us know if they are still missing?

Yes, I have had all permissions to tests and items I have created.  I just noticed the pencil missing this morning with a new assessment I had finished creating.  Normally, the pencil shows right away.  I will check tomorrow to see if it is there.  If not, I will check with our Support Contact.

Hi! @Emmie1

Thank you for this information.

If the tests were released or the items are locked from being on a separate test, then the edit function is no longer present.

This assessment was entered by me with each item having a new number.  The assessment has not been released.  I can edit items when I search by the individual number but utilizing the pencil is not an option for me.

I have worked in the past without the shortcut of the pencil.  So I will readjust.

Thank you for the information.

Does this mean that the locked test item can NEVER be changed in any way? For example, there is a misspelled word in the item.  Would I have to duplicate the item and correct it and use the new item?  Can I then delete the incorrect item?
