Missing assignments Report

We have an advisory and are wondering if there is a way to run a report for our class that shows the missing work each student has for all their classes(not just our own)?  We can find this in Individual reports but it requires you to show all assignments for student's schedule which can be too cumbersome and lengthy.  Is there such a streamlined report? If so, how do I access this?

@tsauser  Designated Support Contacts in each district should be able to reach out to the plug-in developer within the PowerSchool API Developer site.  I have provided the link to the API Developer site and the steps to connect with the plug-in developer below.

I'm sorry.  To my knowledge this still has not been addressed.

It has been resolved twolley just sent it to me. You have to download this plugin and then the magic takes place

Thank you for posting your question. Yes, that is correct. You would want to reach out to the PowerSchool SIS Administrators in your school district who should be able to do this for you.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking.  I installed the plugin and I'm not sure where to find the parameters.

Once the plug-in is installed, it has to be enabled from District>District>Grading>Missing Assignments Preferences.  It can be enabled for different groups at different schools.  See attached screenshot.

Go to System>System Setting>Plugin Management Configuration to view the actual plugin.  To adjust the settings, go to a school and choose School - Under Grading you will find Missing Assignments List Preferences.

I have reviewed the threads and compiled the solutions below.

There is a plug-in available called Missing Assignment Pages in the PowerSource Exchange. Your district PowerSchool SIS administrator can install it in a matter of minutes and it will add a Missing Assignments page to PowerTeacher Pro and/or the parent/student login and/or admin student screen. It will show students' missing assignments in all classes and the page can be printed.

Here is what the screen looks like when printed.

Your district PowerSchool SIS Admin should be able to reach out to the plug-in developer within the PowerSchool API Developer site for assistance with modifying the plugin.  I have provided the link to the API Developer site and the steps to connect with the plug-in developer below.

Not sure why this is marked as "solved" - that's no solution.

Agreed - this needs to become a thing in PowerSchool.

I have a work-around for anyone interested (I also did this work-around in INOW back in the day).

1) Create a new staff member: one with teacher access - I made it with the "name" Missing Assignments.

2) Add this fake staff member as a "co-teacher" to all the sections you want to have included in the missing assignment report (sorry this may be a lot of work for some schools)

3) login as the fake staff teacher and go to "reports" and print a missing assignment report for all students.  This report will have ALL the missing assignments for ALL their classes.

- Note: I wouldn't let anyone have this login access - you could change the grades for ALL classes at the school

Sidenote: If you have someone who you want to access this report, but not have normal admin privileges (just read-only privileges), you can create a user for that that has " PowerTeacher Pro Read Only Admin Access" and when you click on the teacher schedules, you can then get into the "missing assignment" staff member schedule and click on their view-only powerteacher pro - then they won't be able to change grades in ALL the classes.

I built an Excel file that uses exported data from PowerSchool to produce a list of all assignments marked "Missing" list that shows:

Student's name

Grade level

Due date of missing assignment

Name of assignment

Teacher who assigned the work

So if a student has 3 missing assignments, there will be three separate rows for that student.

It is a school-wide report.  It works with data from PowerTeacherPRO gradebook (not other gradebooks).  Once the list is made you can easily sort it by students, or grade level or teachers.

Basically it uses four data exports:

Students (dcid, name, grade level, student number)

Staff (dcid, name)

AssignmentsScores (AssignmentSectionID, IsMissing, ScoreEntryDate, StudentsDCID)

AssignmentsSection  (AssignmentSectionID, DueDate, Name, WhoModifiedID)

Then it cross-references those four data sets to create the list.

This is not a "click & print" report.  It requires a bit of setup, and needs to have fresh data exports (using Data Export Manager).  But it has made my principal's day  🙂
