Menu icons missing

Hello.

I am trying to help a new teacher who is using a Chromebox as her desktop.  when she logs into powerschool the icons for "applications, warning, report queue, print and logout" are not visible.  If I hover over the area a round white circle appears, but otherwise nothing.  If she logs on with her chromebook, the icons are visible.

We did a clear cashe, reboot and so forth, still nothing.  Any suggestions?  Our Tech dDept is down a few and overloaded, so I was just looking to see if I can help.

I  appologize if this has been asked before, I have searched and found nothing applicable - perhaps I am using the wrong words.

Thanks!

Make sure your Chrome version is up to date if clearing cache or restoring to default don't work.

Chromebook is up to date, all history is cleared.

the issue is not with the chrome browser as it works fine in windows.

The issue is only on a Chromebook.

Hi @bigelowm,

Thank you for confirming the product name with us!

Would you please let us know if there are any customizations being enabled and causing this issue?  To get further assistance, we recommend reaching out to the Designated Support Contacts within your school district who should be able to connect with the PowerSchool SIS Support team if required and troubleshoot the issue for you.

Hello,

this is definitely only a Chromebook issue.

we can use the chrome browser on a Windows PC and there is no issue.

we verified that the Chromebooks are up to date, we have tested it on several different manufactures of Chromebooks.

For giggles try loading the page in incognito mode. If the icons appear, there may be an extension this is causing a conflict.

Did you find a solution? We are having the same issue! We turned off customizations, didn't work.

we did, the solution is the following:

In google admin force an OS update to 87 or higher

with troubleshooting with PowerSchool, we tried serval things.

The only thing that worked was forcing the update in google admin to 87 or higher on the Chromebooks. it was during this time while troubleshooting on the phone with support that they found an article about this, and there was a line that said PowerSchool no longer supported 86 or lower. The rep was happy to have found it, disappointed that it wasn't visible enough to be found quickly.

this worked for our district.

Yes we figured it out this morning! PS support told us it was an issue in Chrome OS 87. We were on the highest OS update of 87. We updated one Chromebook and it went straight to OS 89 and everything seemed to work perfectly! Thank you for all your help!
