How to Drop a Student From a Class ?

When I drop a student from a section, and add him to a new section, should his/her original teacher be able to see that the student was dropped from their class ?

@PaigeHarris  In PowerTeacher Pro, the teacher can click on Students > Show Dropped Students

@HeatherWeist - When the teacher did that she could not see that the student under the "Show Dropped Students". When I am re-enrolling into a new section, I am using the same enrollment date (The first day of school 8/23) for the new section ? Should I not be doing that if they are added to a new class/section ?

@PaigeHarris   What dates of enrollments for the original course section did you use?

@PaigeHarris   Did you use the same course/section entry and exit date as the same? If so,  you essentially negated the enrollment.

@HeatherWeist Thats exactly what I did. I think going forward I need to drop based on the date they are being dropped. So if a student has been enrolled since 8/23 but drops the class 9/20. I put the exit date as 9/20. Than enroll in the new section using 8/23 and the enrollment date. That way the teacher can see who has been dropped .. is that correct ?

@PaigeHarris  Yes! Having the course/section entry date and exit date the same could also cause attendance issues. When a student is switching from one section to another, we transfer them out of the original section the day after the last day the they were in the class and use that same date as the entry date into the new section.
