Hide a student temporarily

Hello,

An administrator asked me the following question:

Is there a way to hide students from our markbook/attendance? Or place them as inactive? We have a family that leaves for a portion of the year, at this point we aren't sure if they will return, but we are continuing to do attendance for them. They also still show up on our mark books too.

 

Is this possible?

If you think the student would not return, then one of the ways is to transfer the student out of school and drop them from the sections, and they will not appear in the teacher's grade book or attendance report once they are dropped.
