Would you please let us know if there are any customizations you have enabled that might block the option to take attendance for multiple classes? If there are, would you please try using the "show multiple sections" option when the customizations are disabled?
Thanks for getting back to me. There have been no customizations made and this is a change that occurred over the past weekend. After discussing this issue with other teachers they are reporting the same issue.
We are receiving similar reports on the issue of 'show multiple sections' option missing and we are working with the PowerSchool SIS team to fix this issue and will make it available to our customers as soon as possible.
As a workaround, you may try the following:
Change the term on the right top corner to full year
Set Default term level to Semester-long (if it is for quarter-long classes) / Full Year (if it is for semester-long classes.
Create a combined seating chart with the multiple sections, then take attendance from the seating chart screen. You should be able to take attendance with both sections combined if the seating charts are combined. Here is a direct link to a video on how to combine the seating charts.
We are happy to hear that 'show multiple sections' option is working well for some members.
We are still receiving reports on the issue of 'show multiple sections' option missing from several members. I am glad to update the thread with follow-ups. However, if anyone continues to face the issue, we recommend reaching out to PowerSchool Designated Support Contact within your district who will be able to work with the PowerSchool SIS Support team to look into this further and get updated on the resolution as soon as possible.
Our district is running 19.11.1 and we are experiencing this problem. It appears to have happened this week, after the updates over the weekend.
We are working with the PowerSchool SIS Development team to fix the issue with the 'show multiple sections' option at the earliest. I recommend subscribing to PowerSchool SIS Release Notifications sections of the community to receive notification of our latest PowerSchool SIS product releases.
We are on Version 22.214.171.124 and on Monday Feb 22 we started having issues with some teachers taking attendance using the seating chart. It would not save the changes in the Chrome browser at all. It works in Firefox so that is what we are using right now as a temporary fix. We cleared history, cookies and cache then signed out of chrome and logged back in and it still did not work in Chrome. It was working fine on Friday Feb 19. Could the multiple attendance bug be affecting the seating chart attendance option as well?
We also are having this issue with some teachers whereby when using the seating chart to take attendance it doesn't save the changes. This started on Febuary 18, 2020.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
It doesn't sound like the attendance issue you are facing now is affected by the multiple attendance bug. To get started with further troubleshooting, would you please confirm if this is happening for all teachers while recording all attendance codes?
It is not happening for every teacher. I have only been contacted by a few teachers and they were using Chrome. We cleared the cache, cookies and history and that did not fix the issue. When they use Firefox it works fine.
Not all teachers are having this issue. It works in the following browser FireFox but not in G. Chrome. IT has had it work in the following browsers: Safari, Firefox, and G.Chrome on different machines. The HPProBook (Windows updated/Chrome updated) for this teacher it doesn't work in GChrome but works in FireFox. When this teacher uses one of our devices it will work in G.Chrome.
This is exactly what is happening for us as well. The teacher can login on a different computer and it work fine in Chrome or Firefox. So that makes me think it is a chrome issue specific to the teacher's laptop. Maybe a different version of Chrome or an extension that is enabled on the teacher's laptop but not the other teacher's computer.
Thank you for providing the detailed information. It looks like something is broken and that should be taken a closer look by our PowerSchool SIS team to confirm if the issue is with Chrome and its version or is it something else. We recommend contacting PowerSchool SIS support or working with the Designated Support Contacts within your school district who should be able to connect you with the PowerSchool SIS Support team to look into this further.
