Is there a way to filter and see only this semester's classes when creating an assignment?
Solved! Go to Solution.
In terms of filtering the list of classes shown, teachers will want to use the term selector within the class selector. It is often set to the entire school year, so S2 classes are in their class list on the first day of school. This is easy to adjust and PTP will remember the chosen term the next time they sign in.
Hi @carrowood1,
Thank you for reaching out to PowerSchool Community!
I recommend making sure that the Final grade reporting term is set up correctly and try to select the class from the center top of the screen and term selector on the top right next to the gear icon.

I may be mistaken, but I think I have the same question and this solution does not help me. I would like to know how to only see my S1 (or S2) classes after I have clicked the Create Assignment button (plus mark in the little circle) and I'm in the pop-up box where you can put due dates, assignment descriptions, etc. After that box is open and I go to the drop down menu that starts with Select Classes, all my classes show up, even ones not for the current semester. For example, I want to avoid selecting my Physics S2 section when I want to select my Physics S1 section. It seems unnecessary to show S2 classes when we are in S1.
Hi Zachgob.
There is no such filter in the Create Assignments dialogue box. The assignment will default to the class you are in when you click "create assignment." I strongly suggest you use the Copy Assignment function rather than linking an assignment to multiple sections via the Create Assignment box. The reason for this is that teachers are far less likely to accidentally delete an assignment out of all sections.
Thanks for the quick reply. Now that I know no such option exists I can stop searching for it. I appreciate the idea to duplicate an assignment versus doing an all at once as well.
I always tell the teachers in my trainings that the Duplicate/Copy option is far safer. Assignments linked to multiple sections during creation will be deleted from all sections if deleted from one. To remove the assignment from one section, the teacher needs to edit the assignment and un-check the sections they do not want it to appear in.
