Admin would like to see all his department in a calendar view when employee is absence

Hello! 

I am looking for help and guidance as my Building and Grounds director would like to see a whole calendar view of his employees and if they are absent for that day. The view would still be a monthly calendar but show either a number of how many absence and link the name as to who is missing that day or just list who is missing on the days its self. hopefully this makes sense and can get some help!
