No ratings

Summative assessments are tests given to students by teachers to see what the student has learned from a specific unit of instruction.

When and why is this feature used?

Summative assessments are given at multiple points during the school year to accurately measure what information the student is retaining based on certain content. They could be in the form of a unit test, a paper, a midterm exam, etc.

  • Summative assessments can be created in Powerschool Assessment and given in Powertest.
  • Students are often given grades for summative assessments which means they tend to have a high point value.
