Adding a Student Growth Metric

 To create a new Student Growth Metric,

 

1. Click the plus symbol, indicated by the blue arrow in the following image.
2. The new metric will appear below the existing metrics with the name “New” followed by the current date and time, indicated by the pink arrow.

3. Double-click the new metric to open the editor window.

4. The nomenclature and colors associated with Student Growth Performance will appear as the defaults established in the Student Growth Configuration. If any changes are desired for the individual metric,

a. Double-click a row to open an editor window, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
b. Enter a new name for the Growth Status.
c. If desired, hover over the color wheel to select a new color, indicated by a pink arrow in the following image.
d. Click “OK,” circled in yellow, to save the changes.

5. Enter a name for the new metric in the SLO Metric field, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
6. Select a Subject from the drop-down menu, indicated by a pink arrow.
7. Click the Baseline Assessment Mapping and Post Assessment Mapping drop-down menus, indicated by yellow arrows to select the assessments that will be used to measure student growth.

8. The nomenclature and colors associated with Achievement Cut Score will appear as the defaults established in the Student Growth Configuration. If any changes are desired for the individual metric,

a. Double-click a row to open an editor window, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
b. Enter a new name for the Achievement Status.
c. If desired, hover over the color wheel to select a new color, indicated by a pink arrow in the following image.
d. Click “OK,” circled in yellow, to save the changes.

9. The nomenclature and color for each Teacher Effectiveness Growth Result may be changed.

a. Double-click a row to open an editor window, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
b. Enter a new name for the Growth Result.
c. If desired, hover over the color wheel to select a new color, indicated by a pink arrow in the following image.
d. Click “OK,” circled in yellow, to save the changes.

10. The nomenclature and color for each Teacher Effectiveness Achievement Result may be changed.

a. Double-click a row to open an editor window, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
b. Enter a new name for the Achievement Result.
c. If desired, hover over the color wheel to select a new color, indicated by a pink arrow in the following image.
d. Click “OK,” circled in yellow, to save the changes.

11. Select a growth target model from the drop-down menu in the Student Growth Target Values box. The Tiered Growth Target is the default growth target model. If any changes are desired for the selected model,

a. Double-click a row to open an editor window, indicated by a blue arrow in the following image.
b. Enter the preferred values in the Baseline Points Correct field(s), indicated by a pink arrow.
c. Enter the desired point range in the growth target fields, indicated by yellow arrows.
d. Click “OK,” circled in green, to save the changes.

12. Once all fields have been entered or edited as desired, click “Save” in the top left corner of the Student Growth Metric window.
