Status Update, 11/9:

Thank you for your patience through the recent latency issues with PowerSchool Assessment and Analytics. On Friday, 11/2, we started seeing significant performance degradation that led to timeouts and failures with Student Testing and Reporting. Our efforts over the weekend stabilized the database, however, on Monday, users continued to experience the same latency. We identified the size of the database to be the root cause of the latency. Our response focused on redistributing the load of data and archiving data to reduce the size of the database. Both strategies proved successful, and by Wednesday, 11/6, PowerSchool Assessment and Analytics returned to its expected state of performance. We have continued to monitor the application since, and everything remains stable. We are confident that the strategies we have employed will support continued stability. Again, we appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve the issue, and we ask that you continue to reach out to support with any further questions or concerns.

We are pleased to report that the response latency issue experienced by a number of customers on 11/2/2018 and on 11/5/2018 has been resolved. Our teams have been monitoring system activity and performance for the last 24 hours and will continue to do so for the remainder of this week. We appreciate your patience as we worked to identify and ultimately resolve the issue. The next status update will be provided on Thursday (11/8/2018) at 4:00 pm EST. As always, your Support team is here to address any questions or issues.

A release was published yesterday evening (11/5/2018) to address issues with response latency reported by a number of customers. As we continue to monitor for unusual activity, we remain ready to react quickly to any reoccurrences of slowness. Your support team will follow up with further status updates as more information is available. Please reach out to us with any further questions.

All PowerSchool Assessment and Analytics modules are online. We are implementing an update tonight and will continue monitoring latency issues throughout the day tomorrow. As our technical teams continue to work toward a fix for the latency across PowerSchool Assessment and Analytics, please note that the following modules will be temporarily taken offline as part of the investigation and resolution phase: Assessment Results, Student Growth Reporting, and Interventions. Thank you for you continued patience while we work toward resolution.

Our technical teams are continuing to work to address the latency that a number of customers are still encountering when using PowerSchool Assessment. We apologize for the slowdown in speed and responsiveness and appreciate your patience as we work to address it as soon as possible.  We will follow up with an update as more information becomes available.

Please note that service was confirmed to be up at 1:15 pm Eastern. We are aware of some lingering slowness for some customers and are working to correct it. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause users of our system.

 

Reported Issue:

We have received reports that customers are experiencing slowness when accessing PowerSchool Assessment and PowerSchool Analytics. Students may also have difficulty testing in PowerTest. Our developers are working to resolve this issue. We will post updates as they become available in the PowerSchool Community.
