Hello all,

I have a question. I do NOT work in a school district but the organization I am with works with students around the county. We use Schoology to give kids assignments.

My question:

Two years ago, you could set a student's password and click a box on the administrator-side to have them NOT change their password. This changed last year and every time the student logs on using the password we provide, they have to change it.

Our organization wants to lock down the possibility of kids changing their passwords (even an initial password set-up). They'd prefer if we give them a pre-created password and then that is that.

Can we get this implemented? Or can someone tell me how to do this? I am the administrator for the Schoology account so should have access - I just need some guidance, haha.

Due to not being a proper school district or school, I haven't looked into implementing SSO because we are not providing dedicated laptops/workstations and there is only the one website we are using at the moment. If setting up SSO is the way to go (to disable password changing), please let me know and I'll look into it.

Any help is appreciated!

I cannot speak to Schoology as I do not work with it, but I do work with PowerSchool, and after their major breach they made some fairly sweeping changes to student passwords. I have attached a document.

Also, you may have better luck in the Schoology forums; this "Community" forum is mostly useless.
