Hi all--

Will Schoology be creating AI within its system for data analysis of Gradebooks and assessments? Our district has turned on Power Buddy, which is great for content creation, but some staff members are looking for examples like this :

Could you scan my rosters and generate a list of students who are scoring below 60%, give me their student number, and list the three most point rich assignments each is missing.

Could you scan my gradebook for assignments that I have marked missing, but have had a submission. Could you put them in a single gradeable pile labeled ‘latework basket’?

Could you scan my gradebook and tell me the success trends for the assessments I’ve given the last three years? Also, could you tell me 3 questions on each test that have proven the hardest and suggest a rewording?

PowerSchool is currently rolling out PowerBuddy for Data Analysis, an AI assistant designed to handle exactly these types of natural language requests. While the current "PowerBuddy for Learning" in Schoology focuses primarily on content creation (like generating assignments and lesson plans), the Data Analysis module is built to "talk to your data" across the PowerSchool ecosystem. This means that features allowing you to ask, "Which students are below 60% and what are they missing?" are becoming a reality through integrated dashboards. However, some of your specific requests—like creating a physical "latework basket" folder or auto-rewording test questions based on three-year longitudinal trends—are still in the developmental phase for many districts. Currently, you can use the Item Analysis and Assessment Reporting tools in Schoology for manual trend spotting, but the full conversational "data partner" experience is the next major step in PowerSchool’s AI roadmap.

This is great! So I guess 2 questions:

How long until Power Buddy for data analysis is rolled out and available to school districts?
And is Power School months or years out from a more complex AI system for data partnership as you described above? This would just be nice for staff to know if a estimated timeline is available.

If your school is using gemini you can use the ask gemini feature this while your gradebook is open. You can also do this to analyze your notifications and tell you what students are submitting regularly.

@Hiovine Theoretically would this also work with PowerTeacher Pro?
