How to setup Transportation in PS?

Hello,

I can't find any documentation on setting the transportation.

Where to start?

Anyone any tips?

There are Designated Support Contacts within each district that can assist you with how-to questions for PowerSchool products. I recommend reaching out to the Designated Support Contacts who should be able to assist you with setting up Transportation in PowerSchool.

Sorry if that was not clear, or maybe i'm at the wrong forum;
I am the admin myself.

So the question is about me, setting it up/ initiating it, and who to add, what security settings on the groups, do I need to add access roles, etc, etc.

Thank you for providing additional information. If you are a Designated Support Contact for your district, we recommend you using your staff email address in the PowerSchool community, since access levels in the PowerSchool community are set up to reflect the access levels in PowerSource.

To receive email notifications of new posts, I recommend subscribing to the forum page and selecting the Options menu then Subscribe. You can also subscribe to multiple boards within a Community page, doing so will help you receive immediate notifications when updates are posted in the PowerSchool Community. The Subscriptions and Notifications article should walk through the steps of subscribing to pages in the Community and managing your notification settings.

We purchased the PS PowerPack option that gave us access to some transportation information. Once we were able to add that data in the SIS we could see students bus routes and pickup/drop off times. Transportation options ARE NOT included in the PS Parent Mobile APP though, the only way to get that into the APP is to use a 3rd party plug in PSCB DEV - Custom Public Portal - that does the job nicely. Hope this helps a bit...?

There is the PS SIS Transportation Template to import files into the stock Transportation page.

I have this template and all the information uploaded however I want to add the arrival time and that does not appear on the Transportation page, just the departure. Is there a way to add this?? Thank you!

Yes. In the District Office

1. Go to System Management > Customizations > Manage Custom Pages

2. Expand Admin folder

3. Under the expanded Admin folder scroll down to the Students folder and expand it

4. Under the expanded Students folder scroll down to the Virtual folder, under this you will find and click on <>Transportation.html

5. Click Customize Page at the top

6. Go down to line 40 and place your cursor at the end of the code and hit return to create another row. (cursor here)

7. type line 41 <td class="bold">Arrival</td>

THEN

8. Go down to line 50 and place your cursor at the end of the code and hit return to create another row after <td>~(DepartureTime)</td>

9. Type line 51 <td>~(ArrivalTime)</td>

10. Click Save Draft at the top, then click on Publish.

Then verify your transportation page.
