LTI 1.3 Assignment and Grades Service (AGS) feature missing PendingManual support

Hi Everyone, we have just completed a preliminary LTI 1.3 integration with Schoology with an eye toward providing a specific feature highly requested by our teachers. Unfortunately, it looks like Schoology does not support a key feature of the LTI 1.3 Assignment and Grade Service (AGS).

When an assignment is added to a Schoology course via Deep Linking, and a student subsequently submits that assignment for teacher grading, we can successfully send the "submitted but needs grading" status back to Schoology using the LTI 1.3 AGS. Specifically, this means the submitted grading progress is "PendingManual" and the activity progress is "Completed". However, such a submission does NOT put a TODO item in the teacher's "Ungraded assignment submissions" Reminder queue...which is the entire point of switching from the BasicOutcomes service to the LTI 1.3 AGS (for us).

Researching the issue, we found this Schoology document - https://uc.powerschool-docs.com/en/schoology/latest/course-materials-external-tools#id-(20250423-en)Coursematerials:externaltools-Gradeexternaltools - which states "Schoology does not trigger submission notifications, grading reminders, or overdue notifications for LTI and External Tool materials with grading enabled. Schoology cannot automatically detect submissions from these tools."

Can anyone confirm this statement that Schoology does not support putting deep-linked or other external tool gradable item TODOs into the teacher's reminder queue? We'd love to find a solution that perhaps we overlooked. All other LMS we've tested (Canvas, Buzz...) support this concept cleanly. Thanks!
