Are the parent portal logins effected by using SSO (google)

We are looking to implement google SSO into Powerschool access.

I am trying to determine if the SSO also changes the way parents login or not.

(Hoping not because who wants to manage all those extra email accounts.)

Sorry if this has been covered, I seem to have a talent for not asking the right questions lately!

You've probably already solved this, but for the person that finds your question in a search, here it goes...

No, turning on SSO for students does not automatically turn in on for parents. In fact, under System Management > OIDC Authentication, you can configure Students, Parents, Staff, and Teachers independent of each other.

The login page for "normal" parent login and SSO student login looks like this...

You can pick and choose which groups you want to use SSO. We use teachers, admin and students but parents create their own accounts.

No they are not impacted unless you enable SSO for parent logins.
